Signs of Caregiver Stress

Let’s talk about the stress and burnout of family caregivers. In many communities of color, family caregivers are dealing with COVID, other responsibilities (e.g., parenting, working, or studying) while caring for members. Caring for family members with chronic conditions can lead to feeling stressed and isolated. The stress and challenges of balancing all their roles can lead to mental health concerns (ie., PTSD, substance use, depression, anxiety).

If you are caregiving for a family member during this time, assess yourself for burnout symptoms, ask someone for help, take a break and find small ways to recharge.
